BrushBoarding ramps up to National TV
October 13th, 2008
Extreme Sports Zone is excited to announce their
appearance on The Gadget Show, on Channel 5 for October 13th,
2008. This is part of the continued
ramp up and awareness campaign of BrushBoarding across the UK.
BrushBoarding drew huge crowds at Leisure Industry
Week at the NEC in September with attendees lining up to try it out. The newly addicted riders will have the
chance to compare their experience to the report from The Gadget Show.
Kyle Dent, Founder of Extreme Sports Zone Ltd and
creator of Brush Boarding says, ”The response has been amazing. Leisure Industry Week was a perfect
place to increase awareness prior to us being on National TV”.
Peter Regent, recently joined the management team as
the EMEA Sales and Marketing Director. “This product is amazing. It builds
energy in a crowd and is an excellent attraction”, Peter commented while at the
NEC, “It’s fantastic that you don’t need to know how to do other board sports
to begin BrushBoarding”.
Brush Boarding was also popular amongst the other
exhibitors with fitness experts visiting again and again during Leisure
Industry Week. One of Salomon’s sponsored snowboarders used BrushBoarding to
try out some new tricks!
The Brush Ramp is generating interest from event
organisers, corporations, private hire and groups wishing to get fit while
having fun. Activity centres, sports clubs, leisure parks, caravan parks,
councils and brand companies wish to either purchase,, hire or just simply ride
The Brush Ramp.
FILMING OF 'THE GADGET SHOW'
AUGUST 18TH, 2008
It was a brilliant day, and it is a great pleasure to say, that we have finished filming for the upcoming season of the gadget show. We will be on the season premier on the 13th of October 2008. Thanks to the whole crew for their enthusiasm, to Dallas ‘the presenter’ for his gusto and absolute dedication, and to Ester Spears ‘the judge’ for his candour. We are all looking forward to the show, and from what we have seen, we are absolutely certain that we will come up trumps. Watch to see why!

The Brush Ramp is
Ready
Dec 27th, 2007
After two and a half years of R&D The Brush Ramp is finally complete. Kyle Dent, the Founder of Extreme Sports Zone and inventor of Brush Boarding had a slightly delayed Christmas present. When announcing the completion of The Brush Ramps design, Kyle's face looked like that of his two young boys just two days prior when seeing all the presents Santa had left for them. “I just knew we could find a way to bring board sports fitness to people in an environmentally friendly and safe way”, noted Kyle, “With Brush Boarding people will be able to experience sports like surfing and snowboarding before spending the money to take it up. You don't need to get wet to Brush Board, and you don't need a special outfit - just get on it… Hey, that should be our catch phrase!”.
Brush Boarding is a new multi-boardsport X-training activity that aids in the simulation of most board sports. Different riders use varying board shapes when Brush Boarding. Surfers go for the longer boards so they simulate carving down a wave; skateboarders go for the shortest boards so they can hone their skills; Snowboarders want it all so they can move up and down the ramp, all aiding in improving technique.

Skinner endorses
Brush Boarding
February 23rd, 2008
Ben “SkinDog” Skinner is our first pro-rider to try Brush Boarding. “Dropping in from the top totally feels like the face of a wave”, says SkinDog, “I'II totally be back”. Ben is featured in the pre-release video that shows his hanging-five while Brush Boarding, overlayed with a photo of him hanging-ten on a real wave.

Family Day
Highlights
March 15th, 2008
The coolest outcome of our User Trials was the discovery that families have fun riding the ramp. Dad gets on to see if he has still got the moves; grommets down to the age of 2 years of age have gotten on it (check out the photos!); and not only did a couple of Moms get on it, but so did Gran (serious… check out the photos)! So if you don't have your own wheels yet, and want to go Brush Boarding, you can bring the fam along and everyone can Get On It!

becoming a
Brush Boarding local
March 28th, 2008
John is our regular pro-rider. When he's not off doing photo shoots for Fat Face (take a look at their latest catalogue…) or Starboard, or entering comps in foreign countries, he can be found at the Brush Boarding HQ. John says “It helps me with my core strength, and it's a tonne of fun as its own sport”. John is an all-round boarding guru, leading the way with Paddle Boarding most recently. He was the first to hang-ten while Brush Boarding - there's a name in that trick there somewhere waiting to be found. Thanks for your support John!

National School sports week
july 2nd, 2008
BrushBoarding aligns with the Sports England initiative, currently being implemented throughout the United Kingdom, bringing fitness to our youth.
With the support of the Youth Sports Trust, we were able to take part locally in National School Sports Week.
This was a perfect opportunity to solidify the appeal and accessibility of BrushBoarding to the youth of today.
Here are a couple of words extended to us by Kealey Sherwood, the Leadership & Volunteering Development Manager for the Youth Sports Trust.
“Hi Kyle, just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for your time, investment and energy with regards to Brush boarding week. The activity looks absolutely awesome and I am sure will make a real impact on many of the young people in our partnership…”

Paddle Round the Pier Beach Festival in Brighton
july 5th-6th, 2008
Here is a recent comment from the Director of Paddle Round the Pier highlighting the impact we have at Sports and Community events.
“The new phenomenon of Brush Boarding was one of the highlights of this years Paddle Round the Pier Beach festival with eager crowds longing to try it out. This amazing multi-boardsports X-training machine brings the notion of accessibility to a whole new level from experts to complete beginners. Members of the public were able to experience the thrill of surfing without even getting wet and the skate & snowboarders among us were able to get a real work out!“I can see the Brush Boarding experience being a fantastic draw at any event but also as a long term investment for any sports and leisure complex. With kids as young as 5 enjoying the ride (right up to old surfing pensioners!) this machine is an exciting addition for thrill seekers of all ages. The paddle was privileged to be one of the first to have Brush Boarding at our event and we are absolutely certain that this fantastic invention is set to make it big-time!”

For young people with little or no sight.
July 7th, 2008
Our ride sessions allow us to meet people from all walks of life. We were lucky to have met a very enthusiastic rider by the name of Nicola Griffiths. Nicola works with young people with little or no sight.
After seeing how accessible and exciting BrushBoarding is, Nicola suggested a ride session for some of the children at the school. Although a daunting suggestion, we unanimously decided that it would be a great opportunity for both the children and ourselves. We were absolutely astounded by how well the ride session went. It was undoubtedly a very fulfilling experience for us, and by the letters we received afterwards, it seems to have been the same for all who participated. The feedback from the children was far removed from anything we might have expected.
Thanks to Nicola for getting involved!!
We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
Newquay surf 7s
July 18th-20th, 2008
We were invited to the Surf 7’s event to provide the players and supporters an alternative experience to the much-loved sport of rugby. This gave us the opportunity to show BrushBoarding to a number of representatives from large companies within the Property Development, Sporting Goods, Events and Leisure industries.
As a result we have been invited to support one of these companies during the week of the RipCurl Boardmasters. This will give us another splendid opportunity to build awareness for the brand of the sponsoring company and allow us to continue to promote BrushBoarding to the general public.
Thank you to the Newquay Sports Centre, and all who were involved in this years Surf 7’s even. It was a pleasure to have met with all who approached us, and to all who had the opportunity to join us for a ride.
BE ONE OF OUR RIDERS
JULY 28TH, 2008
Due to the the rapid progression of board related skills offered by The Brush Ramp and the motion of BrushBoarding, we are offering you the chance to join our official Brush Boarding Team. If you think you have what it takes, then get in touch and tell us what you can bring to the Brush Boarding Team. Who knows you could gain the skills to become the next Tony Hawk or Kelly Slater.
Don't forget, this opportunity is open to all - even if you have never ridden a board in your life before! You would be surprised by the skills and movements that come from non-boarders. Rob Aubry took this photo with his skills as a photographer and is now a competent stand up rider himself.
Week of the
Newquay
Boardmasters
August 4th - 10th, 2008
Our week in Newquay during the Rip Curl Boardmasters, proved challenging and successful at the same time. As most have now come to understand, the English weather is at times impossible to overcome, and this week was no exception. Although plagued by gushing rain and gale force winds we managed to take advantage of the two and a half days of “English summer” and once again establish ourselves as a boarding force to be reckoned with.
Highlights included visits from Quicksilver groms, Reef groms, the Vans vert team, BBC photographers, and the Land Rover boys; and of course the wonderful reaction and exposure from the week’s crowds. Thanks to the Acorn Group for all the support, to the team for their dedication and to all who attended. We are looking forward to when we all meet again.
